Long exposure photography

This has been a very useful site in terms of helping me understand how to use long exposure photography this has been really useful in terms of developing my knowledge of how the shutter works for photography and the effects you can get from leaving it open for long periods of time and also how using things like ND filters can help to keep a wide aperture when filming. Although a only several shutter speeds can be used for filming, with me shooting mainly on 24fps I tend to shoot only on 1/50th which is nearly double the frames per second which when considering the way an old fashioned shutter works on the camera in terms of only exposing half the frame the shutter most be double the frame rate to ensure a smooth and filmic look. This also sparked my thoughts for styles and ideas of shooting long exposure photography ideas.
