Forums about candle lighting

I have also been talking on forums as well as reading forums on lighting techniques more specifically how to light with candles and use candles for in film. This was a good forum I came across although I didn’t take part in the discussion I did find it very useful and it also makes a lot of good links to other sites that talk about the same subject it’s a lot take in and a lot to talk about due to the multiple threads and links but I did find some interesting ideas and discussions about how to get good lighting from candles another good point it makes is the quality of DSLR’s under low light. A lot of the discussions talk about how the DSLR can shoot under very low light and can still produce good images I hope this is so but I also am worried about pushing the ISO to high as I have made this mistake before and have witnessed that the amount of noise or grain in shot is too much. Luckily with the studies I have done I now know what the best ISO settings are for the camera which I didn’t know when I had previously had problems I have done some tests and found that even at 1600 the image isn’t too bad but can create more problems in darker or underexposed areas something I am worried I will have to face. Another thing I have been looking at is the dynamic range of the camera. The Dynamic range defines the ability of colours the camera captures and also the range of stops the camera can handle without blowing highlights or losing detail in the shadows. This is very hard to find and tests to them to figure this out for a particular camera are very hard nevertheless it is something I want to look into more. Also by simply studying this I have come across another camera I would like to own. This is the black magic cinema camera and prices around the canon 5d which was the other camera I was looking at. However the black magic cinema camera shoots in 2.5k and uncompressed RAW footage like that of the higher end and expensive cameras like the Arri Alexa and RED EPIC these are professional grade cameras used in big Hollywood films the camera also comes with the Da Vinci colour grading software which is used in Hollywood. I imagine I will look at this camera in more detail and will possibly do a post about it.
