Alternative and inexpensive ways to light a film

This was a great video and this website as well has been hugely helpful in terms of helping me develop my knowledge of many different subjects in film and this particular article was helpful in terms of showing some different ways to light films and create filters and such. The next thing I hope to buy is a cloth shower curtain that will diffuse some lights for when I shoot my silent film. I had seen one on sale that looked to be the perfect thickness and colour that would work great for creating a nice diffused light that I think could be very good when trying to make a soft lighting effect when shooting the silent film. This is one of the things I have also been looking at, in terms of different techniques used in old films and photography to create soft and creative photography like that used during the silent film era. I am very much a fan of the pin up style photography of this era and hopefully by studying more I will be able to replicate some of these looks in my silent film.
