Lightroom an introduction
This has been a very useful piece about an introduction to
how Adobe Lightroom works. After recently downloading to help with the mass
amount of images I had shot over a two day period of shooting I wanted to make
some quick and easy changes and so finally gave Lightroom a try after reading about
it. It wasn’t until I opened it that I realised how in depth and complicated it
was. I could use it to a limited degree, but I wanted to understand it fully as
I know most of the professional photographers swear by it. This video then
proved incredibly helpful in guiding me through how it works in a simple and
easy introduction and also taught me a lot of things I didn’t know it did.
Things like tethering, this means you can connect your camera straight to your
camera and shoot photos which instantly upload to the lightroom for viewing and
editing. I think this is a great feature and I can see myself using this in the
future when shooting. One of the things It explained is how lightroom should
almost be looked at like a digital darkroom like what would be used for film photography.
It gives the user the ability to review and expose mass photos in the way they
want and this is very much like a photographer would use an old film darkroom
for. I hope to learn it more and understand it to a greater degree and develop
my ability and understanding of this software. It has also led me to photoshop
for photo editing and I have been studying this to help me edit my photos in a
more stylistic way. The main reason for doing this is my desire to shoot
portraits and wedding photography for fun and also as a way of making money. I
have read as explained in previous posts about how to approach wedding and portrait
photography and one of the things it encourages is to edit photos to make them
more interesting and visually exciting to separate you from other portrait and
wedding photographers to help increase your business and cliental.
